All elements of my practice embrace a belief that we can change, only when we know where and why we need to.

360 Assessment

Self- perception is limited. Realising your full potential comes from courageously challenging your assumptions, owning your affecting patterns of behaviour and embracing personal developmental change.

Multiple points of reference are invaluable as the basis of a coaching programme when drawn from a cross section of individual’s at senior, peer and junior level who are exposed to the client. Using interview techniques and assessment tools, the process results in a clarity of awareness that embraces not just the individuals challenges and developmental needs, but also provides an authentic snapshot of the pressures, expectations and perceptions of the working environment. The role of the external coach, as against internal support functions, is to reveal sensitive data to the client in a confidential, supportive and non- judgemental environment, and translate the information into actionable strategies that bring about real change. It is a skill and an art to be able to handle this in a sensitive and productive way. Honouring the difficulties we face with accepting criticism is at the base of its success.

Personal Growth and Professional Enhancement

Developmental and leadership coaching is aimed at high performers who feel challenged personally or experience unexpected failure in their role.

This may apply to the technocrat who cannot strategise into the wider picture, or the uncompromising abrasive individual who drives the team into de motivation and creates a tense, unproductive working environment. It may be the high performer promoted into the bigger role with a lack of entitlement restricting confidence and ability, or simply the valuable leader who has abandoned any work life balance to the detriment of health, personal happiness and, ultimately, performance.

It is often the leader with no specific issue who simply strives for personal excellence, to be the best that they can be.

These people understand the goal, but not how to get there, and their patterns of behaviour create the blocks to achieving success in both inter personal relationships and team performance

Critical Situations

The proverbial happens. Failure, conflict, overwhelming challenge personally or professionally , or both. With the crazy workloads and family pressures, constant travel and sleep deprivation experienced by high performers in any field, this type of coaching is common.

The right support at these times is crucial. From deconstruction can come extraordinary reconstruction if we are guided wisely through the impact of the situation on ourselves and our environment.

To realign direction and focus requires first an acceptance and understanding of what is. Often big emotions and fear prevent us from translating what may be the best strategy for a return to balance, productivity and well being. This coaching process provides a platform to stand on while a footing is regained and often results in a transformational shift into a new and better way of working and living life.
